Rated 3 out of 5 by Hard to clean Got the smoothtop thinking it would be easy to clean. The unit stays hot for 20 minutes after shutting off and bakes any splatter onto the cooktop. It is easy to get the bulk of the splattered food off by soaking in soap and a little scrubbing. However every day I have to use the oil-based cleaner provided and a metal scrapper to get the last bits of burned on, caked on food. The unit requires a good 10 to 15 minutes of cleaning work every day.... not the 1 minute wipe down a sealed burner cooktop needs. 1/1/13
