We purchased the Viking compactor because it matched the rest of our appliances. We expected this to live up to the Viking reputation and therefore didn’t mind the $1200 price tag. We were surprised when it did not compact our trash and called for service as we thought it was defective or not installed correctly. We ended up emptying the garbage daily as though we did not have a compactor for the 60 days we used it. We were fortunate in that we could return the compactor for a full refund but before we could the key closure broke off. Everything will be made right for us but please reconsider before buying.

Like other Viking appliances we have, this is a quality product. Is extremely well engineered with great features.
