Smeg is Italy's largest manufacturer of domestic kitchen appliances.
Smeg was founded by Vittorio Bertazzoni in 1948 as Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla (metal enamelling factory in the village of Guastalla, Reggio Emilia). The company is still in the hands of the Bertazzoni family, currently under the direct control of Roberto Bertazzoni. Its headquarters remain a short distance from Guastalla.
They are well known for their 1950s-style "retro" refrigerators (the FAB** range) that have curved corners and come in a variety of non-traditional colors, for example pastel blue, lime green and pink.
More recently they have expanded their product range to include induction hobs, integrated washing machines and washer dryers. In addition, they scored a hit with sales on the "Opera" range of freestanding range cookers, such as the A1 which has almost become a style icon, much like the famed FAB28 fridge and its derivatives. These products, along with style-led design in other areas, has led to Smeg being regarded as leading the industry in design and aesthetics.

I chose the pastel blue. It is so cute, quiet, and well-made. It works well in a small or vintage cottage kitchen, or in another shade, it would look great in a small mid-century modern or industrial/loft setting.
The refrigerator portion is much bigger on the inside than it looks online; it is probably as big as my side by side's refrigerator. Unfortunately the freezer is small, but like I said I have another refrigerator/freezer. Yet I'm realizing I don't really buy that many frozen items and have enough space.
I wish there were more models of SMEGS available, especially the one with the bigger freezer.
AJ Madison was excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by L.boo Smeg fridge--lime green
This is a wonderful fridge that far surpassed my expectations. While modestly sized, it has ample room for food and even comes with handy cheese and meat boxes, a wine/bottle rack, and egg holders for the door. The vivid color and sleek European design makes it a functional showpiece for any kitchen. The only slight criticism is that the seal on the door is so tight that opening it is sometimes difficult. I suspect this will ease over time. I am truly ecstatic about my new Smeg fridge!

Rated 5 out of 5 A beauty...
It is not big, but it works great! Most important - it is so cool. Everybody admires it. It really brings X-factor to our office. We are 12 people eating lunch every day, and the size is perfect. Not noisy, easy to clean. We love it!

There have been many harsh reviews of this fridge - lot's of talk about doors and shelves breaking, condensation... Lot's of misinformation in my opinion.
My fridge runs great. Yes, there is condensation - that is perfectly normal for a fridge with coils on the back, and it all drains properly.
As far as shelves and other pieces breaking - can't imagine what people are doing to break them, they seem perfectly durable to me.
I did have a problem with the door sealing way too tight - at no cost a repairmen fixed it in 5 min.
The one complaint I have is that the front door is not magnetic. I don't know what is going on in the fridge market but fridge doors should be magnetic. End of story. I assumed that it was from the photos and the retro design, very dissappointed about this.
