The very first time I used this product it literally work for 8 minutes before the suction gave out, leaving my carpet soaked.

I purchased this steam vac to clean my carpets myself. After having company not show up repeatedly I gave up on waiting and wasting time on others.
Used steam vac first time yesterday and my carpets are clean; plus was able to clean on my own time. I have not had any problems as far as stopping to clean and empty the waste tank. I was able to clean a small apartment without having to stop my cleaning.

For what I paid, [$], I don't think there is a better carpet shampooer available. While it is a bare bones, no frills unit, it does the job very well. It has excellent suction and cleans the carpet very well. My carpet was completely dry after a few hours. It is simple to assemble and clean. It doesn't heat the water but the cleaning tank is small enough that the water is still very warm as it's finishing. Even at the regular price, I'm not sure you can do better. It is able to clean stains my entry level Bissell upright could not. My only gripe is the recovery tank has a smaller capacity than the water/solution tank. This is a very stupid decision by Hoover. You're forced to stop cleaning 3/4 of the way in to empty the tank. This gives the cleaning mix more time to cool; not good. But despite this one design flaw, I'm very pleased with this cleaner.
