Product Reviews
Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Cooktop Though I don't think it will boil a good amount of water in 90 seconds (like the commercial says), the induction burners do boil water A LOT quicker than a normal electric cooktop. The regular burners on this unit seem to work faster than our GE that we used to have at our last house. I would say the only bad thing about it is the touch controls need to be kept fairly clean or they tend to need a bit longer press to acknowledge your hand....but if you wipe it down every night after you use it like my wife does, you'll be just fine. 3/31/09
Rated 5 out of 5 Great purchase I haven't had this cooktop long enough to provide an in-depth rating, but I installed this unit to upgrade my old cooktop and now wonder why I didn't do this sooner! I love the flexibility of the hybrid radiant/induction burners and the ease of temperature adjustments for both. My preference has always been gas cooktops, but for the first time in my life, I believe I'm going to be very happy with this electric unit. There may be others for sale, but this was the only hybrid cooktop I found. 3/18/10
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poorly Designed for Cooking We have had a regular-sized cooktop before (a different brand) and loved it. We figured a larger size would provide more of the same utilty, and we liked the idea of induction heat. We wanted white, and I wanted a stove without knobs in the front where children could reach them. The cost of this unit was more than three times the price of our previous one; we expected more, but got less. I am so disappointed with this purchase. For starters, this cooktop is always a special-order item, so one must be commited to it without actually using it. Our unit arrived improperly wired, so it had to be repaired before it could be installed. The unit buzzes every time the power is on, whether or not any burner is heating, and after maybe two dozen uses, the induction burner sounds like the Martians have landed. It probably needs to be serviced again. We wanted more cooking room. This unit has five burners, but the three in the back are only for bitty pots. That is all that will fit! To stir the small pots requires a difficult and dangerous reach, especially if there is a larger pot or two in front. There is no accommodation for moving a larger pot to the rear and working with the contents of a smaller one. That cute trim? How long is it supposed to stay nice? After a month of very light use in the kitchen, the trim already has a nick in it. One must wonder how long it will take to get melted and nasty. It bounds the pots in the back, chewing up usable space. People choose smooth-top ranges for ease in cleaning; the trim creates crevices that collect crud which must be cleaned --- and there is extra trim on the front, framing the nifty controls. A frameless unit would be much better for cleaning! Frankly, the controls would be better on the sides, so there would be room in the front to reach pots. This cooktop comes in white. It has pretty blue lights. It has induction heat. But it has low utility if you plan to actually cook with it. My beautiful countertop now has a custom hole cut in it and I am permanently stuck with this item --- unless I move. This is a lot of money to spend for something of such low utility in the kitchen, especially a thing that takes up so much valuable space. I would never purchase this unit again. 12/18/10
Rated 1 out of 5 by electrolux cooktop in white beware! read your warranty on the white cooktop. electrolux will not cover ANY STAINING or cosmetic scarring. i purchased one in june 2011 and shortly after cooking grease stains could not be removed with 3 different cleaners. Electrolux sent a warranty company and they tried to remove without success. later the warranty company said they would not pay for the service call and charged me $87.50 becasue it was not covered under the warranty. the warranty servicer employee tried to convince me that the glass top was the same quality as the GE profile i replaced that i had for 8 years and never stained or scarred. BEWARE! 3/5/11
