I replaced another 30" gas drop in cooktop with this one. I had never done any work with gas appliances but I am fairly handy. Being very careful with all my connections, and doing it exactly the way it is recommended, this job took longer to take out the old one than to put in the new one. If you have any doubts have a pro do it- and that may be required where you live. Remember the consequences of a gas leak.
The cooktop itself has worked wonderfully since I first used it. It is very easy to clean up as well. I'm still learning the cooktop's BTUs but it has worked great!

I have lived with this stovetop for 1 1/2 years. I ended up buying an extended warranty, something I do not do as a rule, because of all the problems I have had with it. For $999 I expected higher quality from Electrolux.
For starters, on the plus side, it does look nice, and the continuous grates are a nice feature. It would be that is, if they were flat.
Summary of issues:
1) The grate is not flat and level. All my pots rock, which is not only annoying, but will cause extra wear on my pots. (There is nothing wrong with the pots. They are induction-compatible perfectly flat-bottomed Fissler stainless steel.) Electrolux happily sent me replacements, which of course have the same problem as they are made from the same imperfect mold.
2) the burners had trouble igniting, clicking endlessly, and sometimes would light if I blew hard at the burner. This was despite cleaning. Eventually they all had to be replaced. I enjoyed visiting with the service man. Three visits. Parts don't come easy from Electrolux.
3) the glass top (white) came flawed in two areas, one of which was cracked next to a burner. Electrolux cheerfully sent me a replacement. However, it was not possible for me to install it. But since I had the other service calls for replacements of burners, the service man was nice enough to install it for me.
4) the burners were loose and jiggled around. A special tool is required to tighten the bolts that hold the burners. Even when re-installed correctly, it is not easy to clean because spills can get under the burner. If I buy that particular tool, I will be able to properly clean the stovetop.
5) I literally have to turn burners off and on at intervals while cooking. Except for the sealed burner, which I can set extremely low (not even simmering-low) I cannot get a low enough flame for simmering. I will have to buy some kind of flame-tamer plate.
Finally, I would not purchase Electrolux again. Although the service and warranty were good, too much of it was required for my taste, and I suspect problems will recur.

First I was a litthe worried about the possible knob discoloring as stated in other reviews. Well so far so good as long as my wife makes sure that the pot and pans are the right size.
It is very beautiful, proffesional like and easy to install.
AJ Madison's fasst delivery is great. I broke our glass cooktop and has no cook top for only 5 days. HHGREGG's delivery date is over a month.
My wife loves it.

For my new home I was looking for a gas cooktop that would work the way I cook.
My list of wants included; a continuous grate over the burners; control knobs in the front; sealed burners for easy cleaning and large burner for getting the water boiling for pasta very quickly. I found all my wants in the Electrolux 30" Sealed Burner Gas Cooktop.
I like the hefty knobs and the control they give you over the flame. The big burner really has the BTU output that is needed to heat water fast. The little burner is ideal for melting butter in a small pan and such.
One has to be careful when lighting the burner. It’s easy to skip past the ignition spot and not light the burner. The spot is marked. I will just have to get used to it. It would be ideal if there was a tactile indicator when the knob is at the ignition spot. It would not require a busy cook to even look to see where it needs to be positioned for ignition. Overall, it’s a great cooktop.
