Purchased new Electrolux Microwave in August 2010. The magnetron failed by December 2010. For 3 months multiple repair men came to fix the many problems; costing much more than a new microwave. They repaired it with a new magnetron which lasted 1 month!!! I then insisted on a new microwave, which I received. It died 4 months and 3 days later. Again the magnetron. Terrible appliance. Total of 3 magnetrons failed in 12 months in 2 different appliances. Will never buy the brand again.

Overall the unit looks great but my old GE was much more functional. Three big annoyances. One is the control pad is very dark and not illuminated. Need to turn on light to see. Second is you cannot use timer feature and use microwave. Three the metal handle gets very hot when boiling water on the stove.

The plastic on this microwave is crumbling after three months use. We have had five of the previous Electrolux models which did the same thing. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT THE PLASTIC WILL NOT LAST.

I've been in the process of replacing most of my kitchen appliances and I did extensive research on different brands. I found Electrolux to offer the most Value which to me means more than cost, but also includes stule and functionality, which to me are equally if not more important. My over the stove microwave meets and exceeds my expectations and I would highly recommend it.
