I have to disagree with other reviewers on the cleaning performance of this machine. The normal cycle is about 2 hours and the washer beeps when done. I open the door to stop the beep, then close the door and let the dishes sit in the heat for another couple of hours. Everything comes out perfectly clean and dry. I'm retired and live alone, so the machine is run no more than once a week.
And, as one reviewer has said, it is amazing how quiet this unit is. If you don't see the red light on the floor showing the unit is in operation, you would never know it from the sound it makes.
I purchased my unit from the outlet center of a large So Cal appliance dealer and got a great price since the item was discontinued. I believe I paid $799. If you're paying full retail, then there might be better options available to you. But if you want a great look and aren't scared off by the cost, I totally recommend this item.

I had a Bosch that I loved. I replaced with it with this Thermador dishwasher that I got on a promo. It literally does not dry the dishes. A Bosch repairman has been out twice to fix the problem, but the dishes are still wet and cold after every cycle...including extra dry cycle. I have the repairman coming again but I doubt there is anything else he can do. Just don't buy this dishwasher.

This dishwasher is really a Bosch with the Thermador name on it. The inside is just like the old 9 yr old Bosch I replaced. Performance has been lacklustre. I am often hand cleaning items after they have gone through the cycle, particularly silverware. I use the recommended detergent and rinseaid. Performance just does not compare to a two drawer Fisher Paykel. I got the Thermador dishwasher free as part of a promo and wish I didn't bother but bought the F&P instead.
