I had this installed and had to have my contractor come and unplug it. It was SO loud it would wake me up in the middle of the night. The unit was in my dining room and my bedroom is upstairs and down a long hallway so that should give you a sense of how loud this thing is. Insult to injury, there is no 'off' button so the unit needed to be pulled out of my cabinetry and unplugged. So I have a $600 wine rack now....nice!
If you are putting this in a garage of basement, far away from where you do your living, it might be ok. It actually worked fine, but it was EXTREMELY noisy.

As far as operation goes, it's excellent. Gets cool fast, stays cool, runs quietly and looks great.
Minor complaint in that the handle is in the middle (top) of the door. Given that this is a 24" wide unit there is quite a lot of "seal strength" to pull through to open the door. If it is on a slippery floor it will move a bit and need repositioning every once in a while.
Minor issue - great unit.

We just purchased one of these, and although it looks nice, its extremely noisy! When its running, its nearly as loud as our microwave. The noise seems to be from the evaporator coil fan. This might be okay in a noisy location like a bar or restaurant, but far too noisy for residential use. We are very disappointed in with this product and I would not recommend it to anyone looking to install in a home. Too bad, if it were quieter, it would have been perfect, but the noise completely ruins this unit!

If you are looking to throw money away buy a wine cooler from Danby. It is truly garbage. Ours lasted one year. We have had it repaired three times in the last two months and it just broke again.
