Power ° This cook top is the most powerful on the market today (2800W) because of this new technology and power. ° Energy consumption will be cut in half and cooking times greatly reduced. ° It would take a 20,000 BTU gas burner to match the power of Diva Induction. ° Diva Induction burners are 90% efficient compared to 50% for gas or even 60% for other electric cooktops. ° No power limitation allows all burners to operate at full power at the same time. Safety ° The cook top will only reach a maximum temperature of 482#&176; F (as compared to halogen at 1,112#&176; F). ° This feature is designed to prevent empty pans from overheating and pans with small amounts of oil from combusting. ° This feature also helps to reduce the chance of burns when skin comes into contact with the top. ° To simplify cleanup from spills and lower the ambient temperature around the cook top. ° The coil will only produce energy when the pan is detected. ° If the coil is turned on with no pan detection it will automatically turn off. ° If the coil is turned on with the pan on top and no instruction given, the coil will turn off. ° Due to the magnetic requirement of the pan, small wares, silverware, jewelry and non-magnetic cookware will not engage the coil.
