SUMMIT BIM44 is a commercially approved icemaker designed for true convenience in operation and placement.
Automatic defrost makes maintenance simple and stress-free, while the BIM44's front-breathing cooling system and fully finished sides allow built-in or freestanding use. A 15 inch width makes it ideal for any tight location. NSF listed for commercial use.
The BIM44 can make up to 44 pounds of clear cube-shaped ice, with an adjustable bin capacity that can store up to 25 pounds. This unit must be used with a drain. An optional pump is available for purchase.
The BIM44 has a jet black cabinet with user-reversible stainless steel door (LHD is default door swing; specify upon ordering for RHD). A curved, towel bar handle is included.

right after warranty went out, machine quit harvesting ice, ice built up on it. cleaned it as directed by manufacturer, no effect. paid $200 for professional ice maker repairman and he couldnt find reason it was not harvesting except to start replacing parts...tech service of no help, just kept saying it needed cleaned...using a reverse osmosis water filter on the unit, so how much cleaner can the water be? would look for another brand. or buy extended warranty

this was a huge mistake -i replaced an old Scotsman with this piece of junk- the water re-circluating motor sounded like a jet engine - the fuse blew on it 3x.
the manufactuer's service rep (not an AJ Madison rep.) said it would take 2 months to ship me a replacement motor- the 90 day warranty was up (WOW -3 months for a major household applaince) ...he also said i would have to replace it myself or find a local rep. ...i asked for thier local service company... he said they did not have any...anywhere....WOW AGAIN...
he did say he could sell me a new unit at a slight discount and i'd get it in less than a week.....WOW the pump takes 2 months but he can sell a new one right away....
don't be fooled by the low price...i paid for what i got...a $900 paper wieght...

When I purchased this ice maker, it fit the bill in terms of features and appearance. Unfortunately, there were no reviews at the time. It is rediculously loud. Thsi is especially true of the motor. Otherwise, it is a beautful functional product.

I searched for several weeks before purchasing the Summit BIM44. Other reviews were right on the money. It was easy to install and works great making lots of clear cube ice very quickly. It was defintely a good purchase. No matter what you might read on other web sites you absolutely have to add the drain pump or have a suitable area for the water to drain. As well as making lots of ice it also creates a significant amount of drain water. Overall I'm very satisfied with this machine.
