The Hoover story begins in 1907. Murray Spangler, an inventor who worked nights as a janitor, had an asthma problem. He called upon his inventor's creativity to find a solution to the dust that aggravated his asthma as he swept up at night. Spangler gathered a tin soap box, a fan, a sateen pillow case and a broom handle, and assembled an odd-looking, cumbersome contraption that managed to pull the dust away from the air he breathed. He quickly realized that this "suction sweeper," as he called it, had enormous sales potential, and he began seeking financial backing. W.H. "Boss" Hoover, owner of a leather goods manufacturing shop, bought the patent from Spangler in 1908, retained him as a partner, and soon had six employees assembling six units a day in a corner of the leather goods shop. Now that's a humble beginning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Karen53 LOVE THIS MACHINE
I had a different brand name machine that was just OK for quick clean ups, and it did not work even after buying a new battery pack. I wanted a little vacuum for a quick clean up every morning, for all the rooms with carpet. I had looked into several different machines and the LINX really impressed me. The fact about the battery charges in 3 hrs, machine stands alone, does not need a base, and easy clean dust cup. Found a store that sold it and bought it that day. The battery charged in 2 hrs and I was off and vacuuming the house. I LOVE THIS MACHINE. I did all the rooms with carpet, every morning for 4 days before the battery needed charging. This is so much better than bringing out the BIG vacuum all the time. I told everyone about this great machine. I would buy it again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by monir waste of Money
I bought this vaccum two years ago since I wanted to invest in a qulity product. However, this was a total waste of money and it leaves me so upset everytime I used it. First, It does not vacumm well you have to go back over the surface couple times and then it dumps all the small picease in one palce. So frusrating...........The batteir died after 2 year and the warranty was over as well. It cost $80.00 pluse shipping to order a new one. I will never invest in another Hoover product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Matt Great but is not built well
It works great but has 3 weak points.
1. It is not balanced well and falls backward easily. This is a part of the cause of #2.
2. The connection of the handle to the vacuum is weak, after a few falls, it broke. I used some steal plates on the front and back screwed in above and below the connection point and this problem has been solved but it should have have been required.
3. The canister falls out too easily. #1 above often causes this to occur as well.
Additionally, the charger stopped working at about 6 months.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CleaningLouie Great product, using commercially
I've now had mine over 5 months and use it 3 times a week to clean 2 small offices and my home - carpet, rugs, tiles, vinyl and hardwood.
It does a great job, especially on carpet where it outperforms anything without a powerhead.
You need to keep the filter clean and empty the dust cup when it gets to about 75% and its a good idea to run scissors through the brush roll and remove any clogged up hair, I do it monthly.
I get 29 - 30 minutes run time consistently, people must understand how lithium batteries work, they have no memory effect and will get damaged if you leave them flat so keep it charged and store the battery off the machine and the charger for longevity.
My only gripe is that there's plenty of room on board for a bigger battery pack, they could have taken advantage of this for longer run times but carrying a spare is a viable option.
