Rated 2 out of 5 Poor Quality
Purchased an Avanti unit 15 months ago and loved it. Then the refrigeration system had an issue and service would have cost over $300 to repair. Mfg did not support unit at all. Over $600 for 15 months of use.
Not worth the price.

This unit is terrible. It has very cheap wire shelves that bend with weight of cans. It is also loud and clunky. Thermostat tricky to control and doesn't keep beverages that cold. Don't put cans near back by fan or they will freeze (but remarkably only keeps other cans/bottles luke warm). First one I bought broke. Thank goodness under warranty. The sent new one, it too broke. I had to harvest a part from old one to fix it myself. Overall, not that cold, cheap shelving and LOUD. In process of buying another brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by klech exactly what I wanted!
I researched these beverage centers before I bought the Avanti. I am so pleased with it!! It holds an unbelievable amount of drinks and keeps them COLD!! It was purchased for a lake house in Texas where cold drinks are important. I was apprehensive about the "mirrored" front but it looks great-more of a smokey look to it and gives the kitchen a cleaner look instead of seeing stacks of sodas, beers and water bottles. The control panel is very sensitive so if you brush up against it it will change settings. The only thing I would have changed is the "cheesey" drawing of a cola bottle on the front-would have left that off. It's pricey but it has been worth it.

The Avanti BCA5105SGI I purchased looks good & of course keeps my beer at a perfect 38°F. It suffers from a few design flaws however.
#1 The glass door is mirrored which prevents viewing what's inside- which was the reason I wanted a glass door.
#2 The interior light, which is absolutely required to be ON if you want to see inside at all, is deep blue for some reason & illuminates only part of the top shelf. They really missed an opportunity there.
#3 That interior light is on a TIMER! It only stays on for 10 minutes. It's like they really don't want you to see inside.
#4 As stingy as Avanti is with the illumination on the inside, they amazingly generous with the light on the temperature display. It's bright enough to be a night light for the whole Game Rm & it as well as the rest of the front panel look cheap.
I solved the interior light problem with a diod strip from Ikea they call 'Dioder'. You get 4 very thin & narrow plastic strips with embedded LEDs, connected to a small controller with very flat wires. It's easy to mount one or more of the strips inside the Avanti & run the wire out past the door seal on the hinge side. Leave the strips you don't use unattached.
I'll probably cover the temperature display with tape.
