I can't imagine how anyone install this. You have to screw it to the underside of the cabinet. But the mounting holes are obscured by the fan shroud. There's no way to get to them with the fan shroud in place, and there's no way to move the fan shroud.
The instructions tell you to remove the cover of the electrical box to get at the wiring, but on my fan the electrical box is completely covered by a transformer, spot welded in place on a metal plate--you can't actually get the cover off, because the transformer is in the way. You can move the transfomer, bu not the plate it attaches to.
I managed to get the wires out though the back, but that was just the first problem.
My wife and I have been staring at it and reading the manual and we can see no way we'll ever get those mounting screws set up. We'd have to take the two fans and the motor out. But I can't figure out how you'd do that.
It's a nice looking product and powerful, but this is just astonishingly bad design. I've called tech support at Zephyr and the line is busy--they've promised to call back. I am hoping they have some kind of solution.
If they do, I'll post it. If not, I'll be trying to get my money back
