I purchased my Amana bottom freezer almost 4 years ago and had nothing but problems. I have hardwood floors in my kitchen and where this beast sat, the floor is ruined. It used to drip constantly and who would think to pull it out and check on something like that when it's brand new. I had Millman's (the outfit I bought it from) out on several occasions to (try) correct the problem. Well, after two attempts, they finally fixed that. I called Customer Service at Amana and was told they had no issues with this unit, that it was one of their top sellers. Recently, the unit just kept running, and never shutting off. On Sunday, I looked in the bottom freezer section and everything was starting to thaw. Needless to say, I marched myself up to Lowe's and purchased another top loading freezer and hopefully this will last a lot longer than what we had. What a waste of almost $1200. I do work for a living and it's not what I had planned on doing this Mother's Day, but really did not have a choice in the matter. Enough is enough!!!!

NOT HAPPY, Warranty went out and so did the compressor. Will be shopping for another brand. Never again Amana.

I purchased this refrigerator for over $1000, and a scant three months after the warranty expired, the compressor went out. Now I am looking at spending over $600 to repair it or buying a new refrigerator. Amana will not do anything to stand behind their product or help in any way. They say they "hope" their appliances will last a long time. I expect a refrigerator to last more than five years! I will not be purchasing another Amana/Maytag product again!
