i love my fagor, but you should know that our relationship got off to a rocky start.
the good news: my fridge arrived promptly, no delivery charge, no sales tax, great deal. the sales guys at ajmadison were great. the customer service guys at fagor were great.
the bad news: first, i forgot to ask ajmadison to switch the doors, so i thot, okay, no problem, i'll do it myself. about halfway into the project i arrived at a bolt i couldn't remove. i called fagor customer service and they told me that switching the doors was not a do-it-yourself project. in the end, i had to pay a serviceman to switch the doors for me.
second, the fridge did not work properly in the beginning. first, it turned itself off. after that got fixed, it froze everything. it took two new parts and three service calls to get everything up and running, but fagor customer service took care of everything. they were very helpful.
now i just love my fridge. no more bending over. no more rooting around. so easy to use. so well designed.
i love the produce drawer with the moveable dividers. i love the pull out meat and cheese drawer. i love the cute little ice cube tray and storage compartment (perfect for me, i don't use a lot of ice) that keeps the ice from sublimating. i love the wine rack...it looks like the new model doesn't have a wine rack.... i think the wine rack is absolutely essential.... i wouldn't have enough room for tall bottles without it.
one caution. the plastic drawers are fragile. in fact, one of mine arrived cracked. again, fagor quickly and cheerfully replaced it. but you want to be gentle opening and closing the drawers.
so, i would recommend this fridge for an individual or a couple who need a fridge with a small footprint. for a family with a lot of kids, maybe not so much

We replaced our short and fat American fridge with this tall and lean European one. Now we have more space in the kitchen and are very happy for that. The machine is very good. Only draw back is that the door shelf isn't wide enough to hold a one gallon jug of milk, but we knew that. A German fridge of similar style can handle the one gallon jug, but that fridge is about $1000 more than the Fagor, so it was not quite worth that for us.
Regarding the shipping: the item is so tall that somebody had leaned it to hard on a dolly during transport, leading to a minor defect in the stainless steel surface on the front door. It is hard to see unless you know about it, though.

After seeing European fridges 20 years ago, I've been biding my time until I could get one here in the U.S. Even the energy efficiency is hard to come by, let alone good design with efficient layout & not taking over the kitchen. The Fagor is a gorgeous fridge.
The shelves are glass. The door shelves are glass, too -- and they come apart *completely* for cleaning. THAT I like. Oh, also the bottom door shelf has a very slight curve so the middle part is just a bit wider than each end. I like the giant bin for produce; it has a *movable* divider so I can put something like cheeses in one side. I also like the way the meat bin works. I am still getting used to the tall top shelves, but they don't bother me. I have to have a stepladder in the kitchen for my tall kitchen shelves (old house). The freezer drawers do not have glides or stops. But, they do have handles so you can easily carry them to the counter to sort through. I considered a manual defrost unit, but I am happy to say that the way the Fagor freezes, I do not have the problems with food freezing and thawing until it is freezer-burned.
There is always a learning curve when you switch from the old way to a new one; that is true for organizing food in the new layout. I think the fridge holds at least as much as my old 32" Admiral. The freezer is a bit smaller. The ice cube tray is wacky, but I didn't buy the unit for an ice maker.
Pretty much the whole unit is made from recycled materials, and is itself recyclable. Including the plastic finishes inside. It's easy to clean with no overlapping seams or strange channels for liquids to accumulate and grow stuff. The interior light is super bright.
About 1 week after arriving, the fan motor died. Luckily, I'd been lax about recycling the old fridge. Service was prompt and a local repair arranged by Fagor. Of course I wasn't happy that the motor broke. But if I'd special ordered an appliance from a local shop, it'd be the same situation. I am happy that the repair was done promptly and without extra hassle for me. That matters.

I am so pleased with my new acquisition. Fagor is the best refrigerator I ever had. Its sleek, really beautiful and extremely functional.
I am impressed with the capacity.
I makes the food fresher for long time than a regular refrigerator.
Its very quiet.
I am extremely happy with my purchase and I strongly recommend to everybody.
