Freestanding refrigerators are finished on three sides and are generally not as expensive as built-in refrigerators because they are not integrated with your kitchen cabinetry. Freestanding counter-depth refrigerators can be the happy medium, as they provide a flush look without the added expense for a built in refrigerator.
