Electric Dryers
Electric dryers operate the exact same way as gas dryers; the only difference is that electric dryers use electricity
to send hot air into the drum instead of gas. The only thing to bear in mind is that most electric dryers require a 240/208-volt connection (10-30R or 14-30R outlet), which is twice that of a standard outlet. It’s also important to note that most electric dryers do not come with electrical cords. Some manufactures (like Whirlpool, Maytag and Amana) will sell the power cord as an accessory with the dryer, but for most electric dryers you will need to purchase the cord separately. The connections you have in your home will most dictate whether you will need a gas or electric dryer.
