When it comes to washing machines, there are four different types to consider: traditional top-loading washers, high-efficiency top-loading washers, front loading washers, and compact front loading washers. Traditional top-loading washing machines typically use the most water and have the least capacity within the full sized washer category. On the contrary, high-efficiency top-loading washing machines use significantly less water and have much higher capacity than its traditional counterpart. Front-loading washing machines use the least amount of water and yet offer ample capacity for larger households. Whereas compact front loading machines use the same washing system as a full-size front loader, and therefore use very little water, except these models are narrower which reduces the overall capacity.

To help narrow down your selection always bear in mind the capacity, water usage, cycle options and your installation needs. These key elements are essential in determining the ideal unit for your household.
